Victoria Terminus, the headquarters of the Central Railway, was also designed by Stevens. It is an outstanding example the meeting of two cultures as British architects worked with Indian craftsmen to create what is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Built to commemorate Queen Victoria, it was opened on the date of her Golden Jubilee: June 20, 1887.  It has now been renamed as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, after the great 17th-century Maratha warrior king.
